Baptism

Baptism is a means of grace. A second chance, a mulligan, an unlimited invitation into life with Jesus.

In baptism, we are adopted as daughters and sons of God, washed of our past selves, and given the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 3:16, Romans 6, Acts 2:38)

We celebrate baptism as the laying down of our worldly kingdoms and taking up full allegiance to Jesus in his everlasting kingdom.

FAQ’s: Baptism

  • Jesus began his ministry by walking into the waters of baptism. At his baptism the Father spoke over him, the Holy Spirit descended, and he was sent out to being his ministry. We follow Jesus into the waters to be adopted by God, filled with Spirit, and given a mission.

  • Baptism is sacramental; a means of grace. When we enter into baptism with Jesus we are giving ultimate allegiance to him and no other. Baptism signifies that we no longer live for our selves or any other kingdom. We are now in Jesus, living in his eternal kingdom here and now (Romans 6).

  • That is great! We do not practice baptizing people into our church for membership, but want all people to be baptized into Jesus.

In Christ you are set free form you past and given new life. If you are unsure about your decision at a younger age, let’s talk!

  • You can never know enough, be enough, or accomplish enough to earn God’s love and grace. He already loves you. To be baptized you need to be ready to follow Jesus. It is a simple but powerful reality and decision.

  • We want to talk to you. Make contact via our staff page or get registered to be a part of our GC Basics classes.
