The Top 5 Things You Need to Know to Stay Connected with the Grace Crossing Family

Updated 05.20.2020
We find ourselves in a somber and unprecedented season. People around the world are full of uncertainty and worry. Those who rarely feel anxiety are suddenly weighed down in fear. There is much we do not know…

However, there is much we do know! We know that our God is bigger than the COVID-19 Pandemic. We know that our creating, sustaining and loving Lord has seen humanity through plagues and crises throughout history. In Jesus, we know that our eternally ultimate problems are reconciled and redeemed. By the indwelling Holy Spirit, we know God is still transforming us into his people! Please know that the Grace Crossing family loves you and we are committed to relying on our God and serving you through this time in a variety of ways. Please be aware of the following:

An Important Announcement About Our Worship Schedule – Thank you for your input on our Member Survey! We had great participation from a majority of our members. While there is a diversity of thoughts and concerns, there is a clear consensus and encouragement from our members to take a measured and cautious return to in-person gatherings. Again, a diversity of thought, but a clear consensus toward the side of caution. Our leaders have heard that.

So, after prayerfully considering our recent Covid-19 trends, government guidelines, and the consensus wisdom of our members, here is our plan for proceeding:

1 – We have set a Target Date for returning to worship gatherings inside the Grace Crossing building of Sunday, June 14. Since this is a fluid and unpredictable season, we will reevaluate the first week of June to make sure that date still works. Meanwhile, we will continue with Virtual Online Worship. On our return date, we will launch a new online Livestream option every Sunday for those unable to attend.

2 – Upon returning, we will offer 2 identical and slightly shortened worship assemblies at 9:00am and 11:00am. We will encourage the best safety practices with Socially Distanced Family Seating and Full Professional Cleaning and Disinfecting between services. There will be no Bible Classes, Children’s Worship or Nursery provided. However, we will continue to encourage Online Bible classes.

3 – Obviously, if you are sick, we ask that you please stay at home. We want everybody to use wise discretion. The most recent guidelines by the State of Texas recommend that those age 65 or older and those with pre-existing conditions consider options such as our online Livestream opportunity.

4 – Now, I know you have many more questions about specific details. Rest assured that we are prayerfully discussing many other details and we will communicate more as we get closer to our target date of June 14.

But for now, we just want you to have this basic overview:
  • Our Target Date is June 14.
  • We will offer 2 identical services separated by a thorough and professional cleaning.
  • We will follow good social distance and safety guidelines.
  • And all in-person Bible Classes and Children’s options will remain suspended.
Again, we so appreciate your good input and your flexibility. We believe that this approach takes seriously the wisdom and concerns of our Grace Crossing family.

A Word of Encouragement – We all have a perspective. So, think about where you are looking. Philippians 2:3-4 – Value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Paul reminds us that it is not about just looking out for ourselves and our own interests. It’s a mind shift – from Self to Service. This encouragement from the Bible helps God’s people know how to respond in challenging times.

Hear it again from a different version: Get beyond yourselves and protecting your own interests; be sincere, and secure your neighbors’ interests first. (Voice). Another translation says: Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests (TPT). That is a guiding principle for the People of Jesus in this season!

Be Sure To Congratulate Our High School and College Graduates! – We celebrate with Jett Lamberti and Randi Fletcher! And also: Grant Brady, Troy Fulton, Corbin VanSteenberg, Morgan Wilt, and Courtney Winski. We’re so proud of them all! And we know God has great things in store for their future!

Join us for another online Virtual Worship Experience this coming Sunday! – Our Bible message is titled Hope For the Hurried! So, make worship a priority through songs, Bible study, communion and the offering. We’re still the people of God and God’s people worship!

God Loves You and So Does Your Grace Crossing Family! – You are a loved child of God! And God has overwhelmingly blessed you through Jesus and the Holy Spirit! So, it’s Wisdom over Worry, Faith over Fear, Prayer over Panic and Above all things Love! Until next time Grace Crossing Church… Go be that United Family that Loves God, Loves People and Follows Jesus Into the World!
